WHO IS KAMRAN SALIANI?

Kamran Saliani founded the Irvington Shakespeare Theater Company (ISC) in 2020 as a local theater initiative, which developed the Rivertowns Playhouse: Official Theater Wing of CIP, a non-profit organization bringing accessible, professional theater to Westchester, NY. Saliani, an actor and producer, gained permission from Sir Ian McKellen to revive his one-man show, Acting Shakespeare, and has received recognition as a "Westchester Wunderkind" for his work. The company is dedicated to making Shakespeare accessible to all people. 

Born in the Bronx and raised in Irvington, NY, Kamran is a proud Iranian-Italian-British-American and graduate of NYU Tisch Drama (B.F.A, Acting). Selected roles include Friar Lawrence (Romeo & Juliet), Malvolio (Twelfth Night), Dumaine (Love’s Labour’s Lost), Pericles (Pericles, Prince of Tyre), Algernon (The Importance of Being Earnest), Bertolt Brecht (Requiem for Black Marie).

Saliani has cited Ian McKellen, Bo Burnham, Jimmy Stewart, Janet McTeer and Ismenia Mendes, as influences.

Kamran was named a 2023 Under-35 Westchester Wunderkind  and a finalist for Best Artist in Best of Westchester. He has earned multiple BroadwayWorld nominations, including Best Performer and Best Supporting Performer(Westchester/Rockland Region). He has also received special recognition for his acting and theater work from Westchester County Legislators David Imamura and Jewel Williams Johnson, who issued a county proclamation naming May 25, 2023, “Kamran Saliani Day.”
